Michèle Bazin was cofounder of Groupe Communi-Conseils in 1981. The group was eventually called Bazin Dumas Dupré Sormany, and her role in this partnership, as one of the four partners, was to oversee Business Development while acting as strategic counsel for corporate clients. It was during this time that she was imparted with the position of General Manager for Quebecor magazines for two years, supervising over one hundred staffers and a yearly budget of more than $20 Million. She had previously been the assistant to the Media Manager of the Olympic Games in 1976 and a researcher for various television shows before accepting the post of Press Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition in the Quebec Government from 1979 to 1981. Named as a member of the board of the Arts Council of Canada in 983, she has managed, all through her career to remain involved with all aspects of cultural affairs.
In 1990, she became a member of the Commission sur la télévision au Canada and the following year worked in Paris for an American PR firm. Upon her return, she became Communications Director for the President of the Privy Council and Minister of Constitutional Affairs in Ottawa. With three partners, she created Bazin Larouche Sormany Vigneault, communications et affaires publiques, in 1993 which eventually became GPC Communications after the merger of the two consulting firms.
Also a writer, Michèle Bazin has published 4 books, a critically acclaimed collection of poems, Je ne serai plus jamais la même, an essay, La Pomme d'Ève , a novel " à quatre mains," Les Bateaux de papier and her new novel, Les Champions de l’amour at Stanké editors..She also participated in writing more than two hundred television drama shows with various collaborators: Monsieur le Ministre, L'Or du temps, La Misère des Riches, etc. All these shows were sold worldwide, to International television channels.
Michèle Bazin was a member of the Board of Directors of Newco (Toronto) (1995-2014) and was a member of LALALA Human Steps Board for almost 15 years and also of the prestigious IWF (International Women's Forum). She was also a member of UNEQ (Union des Écrivains du Québec), of the two writers societies (Sartec et SACD).
She was Vice president, Public Affairs for the Group Just For Laughs/Juste pour Rire for 10 years. She was President of the Regroupement des Événements Majeurs Internationaux (REMI) the assembly of all major events and festivals of Quebec (2004-2006), was on the Board of Tourism Montreal and on the Board of le Quartier des Spectacles. She was a member of the consultative Board of the Law Firm Delegatus and a member of the Board of the CSSS La Pommeraie (Montérégie). She was Editor in Chief of the magazine Premières en affaires for 5 years (2008-2013). She is co-founder and president of the Board of the Festival du cinéma de Knowlton, she is on the Board of Pleins Rayons.
She also participated to several seminars on leadership: some of which are John Kennedy School (Harvard) Decisions making & Strategy of Persuasion and Dr. Bell (North Carolina).
